Corporate Wellness Consulting

Dear Dr. Chappell,

Thank you for presenting at the TAHRA meeting this month. The information you shared on ergonomics was very relevant to all of our members, which was evident in the number of guests who attended the meeting. Your professionalism and expertise for the subject matter reached the entire group.

I know the information you shared will benefit many members and the guests that attended and I hope that many ofthem contact you about the free ergonomic training. I haven’t seen the tallied evaluations yet and I will be happy to send you a copy when I receive it, which will probably be next week.

I speak on behalf of our members when I say that we are grateful that you were available and willing to present at our meeting. It was a pleasure having you present to our group.

With regards,
Jennifer Seman, PHR

Introduction to Corporate Wellness

As health related costs continue to rise and we face an uncertain health insurance future, there is still hope on the horizon. It’s encouraging to note that approximately 75% of chronic diseases and related costs are preventable through lifestyle changes. In the years that I have done workshops for companies, organizations, and schools, I have found that many people are just unaware of the daily things they can do to significantly impact their state of health and often lack the inspiration to engage and make the behavior changes stick.

Our mission at is to help create a healthier community. We have 28 years of experience helping individuals, families, and companies increase their awareness about simple changes they can make that can have a significant influence on their health and well-being. As awareness increases, individuals are empowered and more likely to make lifestyle choices that help them be prepared for the physical and psychological demands of work. Healthier, happier employees benefit the company through increased productivity, less sick days, improved concentration, fewer mistakes, and decreased healthcare costs.

Our local, doctor-driven coaching strategies are a win – win – win situation for all involved. The company benefits by having healthier employees accruing the benefits listed above. Employees benefit through an improved state of health, a higher quality of life, and less chance of injury. As leaders in our profession, we get the opportunity to further our mission of increasing the health and wellness of our community.

Give us a call and we can find a convenient time that we can meet to discuss how we can help you implement a low cost program custom designed based on your company’s needs and desires. You provide the platform and we’ll do the work to help you create a wellness culture, improve the health of your workforce, and have a positive effect on your company’s bottom line.

Corporate Wellness Options

1. EMPLOYEE HEALTH AND WELLNESS EDUCATIONAL WORKSHOPS:

The essence of our health and wellness educational workshops is to increase awareness of wellness lifestyle options becoming more proactive and focused on making healthier lifestyle choices leading to a healthier body and mind. These can be presented as “Lunch and Learn” programs or at company meetings.
Examples of Topics:

  • Key Strategies to Decrease Stress and Increase Energy
  • Healthy Eating – Fuel for Life
  • Exercise for Injury Prevention, Increased Energy, & Well-being
  • Keys to Making Your Goals a Reality
  • New Strategies for Healthy, Drug-Free Weight Loss
  • Optimal Health Expression: Thinking Out Of the Box
  • Solutions to Raising a Healthy, Drug-Free Family
  • Etc. – We can custom design a health talk of your choice

2. WELLNESS SCORE:

What gets measured gets managed. The Wellness Score measures ten physiology parameters to give a baseline assessment of the employee’s health challenges. Since physiology doesn’t lie, the objective Wellness Score is a powerful tool to measure results as it goes beyond subjective answers to a Health Risk Assessment.

3. COMPUTERIZED STRESS SCREENING:

This personalized screening process can be done at your company’s location. It incorporates technology utilized by the astronauts on the space shuttle Challenger, only takes several minutes, and evaluates how well the person is adapting to physical and emotional stress in their life.

If we uncover imbalances and problems in the neuro-muscular system the employee has the opportunity to proactively resolve problems early thus reducing the possibility of work related aggravation or injury leading to a workers compensation claim.

4. ERGONOMIC EVALUATIONS:

Assist employees to learn how to interface with their work environment more appropriately to reduce stress on their physical bodies. Correct workstation setup reduces muscular tension that can lead to back, neck, and shoulder pain, repetitive strain injuries, headaches, and fatigue.

5. PREVENTATIVE PROTOCOLS:

Prevention of injuries is a key focus. It results in even greater savings to the company by reducing lost time due to full disability; costs associated with retraining to a new position, hiring and training a new employee, and increased insurance premiums. In addition, I am certified to present the Worksafe: Back Injury Prevention Program offered through a grant from the State of Michigan Department of Consumer and Industry Services. This program is available only to specific types of businesses.

    Additional Testimonials

    “Dear Dr. Chappell,

A long overdue note but I wanted to say thank you again for stopping by the Sales and Conference Services Office at Grand Traverse Resort & Spa to help us determine if our work stations were ergonomic. Your help is invaluable!

I have to tell that I have personally benefited greatly from your suggestions. I appreciate your understanding that buying new desks, chairs, etc. wasn’t an option at this time for my team and loved your ideas for making what I have work better for us. The simple changes of chair and monitor height made a huge impact; I felt less tired throughout the day and the strain on my body isn’t nearly what it used to be. As you know from my adjustments, the places that were always the worst have definitely improved, all because of the way I sat at my desk for 9+ hours every day. There are positive side effects as well including better sleep, less headaches and better overall posture. My team members have also said the same and appreciated the visit from you to help keep them working healthy!

I would highly recommend this service to others. Organizations spend a lot of time on training for prevention of slips & falls, lifting guidelines or general safety concerns and often times, the office worker gets overlooked. This simple 5 minute consultation can really save the company money and lost time.

    Thank you again!

    Colleen Brzozowski
    Director of Sales”
