Rejoicing In The Circles Of Life
rejoicing in the cycles of life
Dr. Greg and Lyn Chappell
This is a great time of the year. Feelings of new beginnings and rebirth. The fading snow and cold temperatures are replaced with budding trees and bushes, green grass, and spring flowers. Thoughts of the cycles of life and the inherent destructive and constructive forces of nature are cause for awe as we reflect on the amazing universe we live in and it’s potential for renewal.
Fallen leaves from Autumn decompose to provide nutrients and soil for new vegetation. The vegetation provides food for us and other animals in our food chain, oxygen for us to breathe, shelter, etc. The action of the waves breaking down seashells provides the sand of a seashore to beautify our world. Forest fires thin out the trees for new growth. Thus the destructive universal forces provide a changing environment within which the constructive universal intelligence can adapt biological systems to regenerate and sustain life. And the cycles of life continue on.
Just like our physical universe, our body goes through cyclical changes also. Almost every cell of your body has a specific lifespan. For instance, red blood cells live for about 120 days. After this they are broken down and recycled as building blocks for your innate intelligence to use in replacing them with healthy new ones. Scientists now say that the human body replaces about 98% of itself on an atomic level once every nine months to a year. Whether we become healthier or unhealthier in the process and the quality of life we manifest, is dependent on the forces acting on us and our ability to adapt to them.
This adaptation principle is therefore the key element and must be a primary focus to establish the balance that creates and maintains life. Otherwise, the destructive forces including nutritional and toxic burdens, free radicals, cellular aging processes, trauma, negative emotions, effects of surgery and drugs, autoimmune problems, electromagnetic radiation, etc., override the constructive, regenerative capabilities. Instead of a dance of ”life”, breakdown or dis-ease occurs within the body leading to sickness, disease , and death.
Human beings are not destined to degenerate over time into a series of chronic disease processes. Unfortunately, the opposite is true as we observe the present state of our aging population manifesting this trend. Historically, as a society, we have chosen to embrace the allopathic, or mechanistic model of how we treat the body. This model is based on a reactive philosophy; wait until the physical machine of the body breaks down, then fix it with physical protocols, primarily drugs and surgery. One problem is that this model has, for the most part, ignored the non-physical components of our health complex such as the innate intelligence, emotions, and other subtle energy systems which science is now showing to be a significant factor in health.
